i) cellular and molecular mechanisms that support learning and memory in cultured circuits
ii) optogenetic investigation of brain circuit development and plasticity in larval zebrafish
The mission of CERVO is to generate new knowledge on the causes and treatments of neurological and psychiatric disorders in children, adults and the elderly. It is affiliated with Université Laval in Quebec City.
The lab is integrated into the Neurophotonics Centre, a unique state-of-the-art national facility for advanced Biophotonics approaches dedicated toward the understanding of the brain, the development of diagnostics for brain disorders and phototherapy. The centre brings together a team of researchers, scientists and staff who develop and use the most innovative methods integrating neuroscience and physics. The goal of this center is to harness the power of light to study the nervous system and understand the mysteries of the brain.
