Tracking quantum-dot labelled glutamate receptors in a hippocampal neuron. Film by Simon Labrecque

Static growth cone from a cultured hippocampal neuron. The fluorescent signals from mGFP-Lifeact (F-actin, green) and mCherry-tubulin (red) are captured by video microscopy. Film by Étienne Labrie-Dion

Hippocampal neuron (12-14 days in vitro) transfected with GFP-CaMKIIα was stimulated with glutamate/glycine for 1 minute and washed for 27 minutes in low Ca2+/high Mg2+ external solution, as indicated. Frames were collected every 10 seconds (time shown in lower right corner) during the first 4 minutes and then every 30 seconds and are displayed at 6 frames per second.

Auto-association of CaMKII modulated by pH in HEK cells.
